Sending a Fax with Styles

Using Word Fax (wfx) Styles

A style is a named collection of attributes that can be applied to the text in a Word document. The FaxTalk Merge Macro will use the styles to search the document for specific data to be sent to FaxTalk, such as the recipient name and fax number.

By use of styles, you can automatically pick up fax details from the document and have it sent to FaxTalk without any additional typing. The FaxTalk styles are backwards compatible with WinFax PRO macro styles.

The WfxFaxNum style is a required style as it should contain the fax number or an email address.

NOTE: To use an email address, you must enable the ability to send emails in FaxTalk and select the option to convert the fax to an Adobe PDF or TIFF attachment. Your fax will be converted to a PDF or TIFF document and emailed to the recipient.

Here is a list of the styles that can be used within a Word document. These styles must be created before they can be used in a Word document.

·     WfxFaxNum - The recipient's fax number or email address.
·     WfxRecipient - The name of the recipient. (Optional)
·     WfxTime - The time that the fax will be sent. (HH:MM:SS) (Optional)
·     WfxDate -The date that the fax will be sent. (MM/DD/YYYY) (Optional)
·     WfxCompany - The recipient's company name. (Optional)
·     WfxSubject - User-definable information. (Optional)
·     WfxFaxNumCC - Carbon Copy (CC) recipient fax number or email. (Optional)
·     WfxRecipientCC - The name of the Carbon Copy Fax (CC) recipient. (Optional)
·     WfxCompanyCC - The company of the Carbon Copy Fax (CC). (Optional)

4.    In the Style type box, click Character. (If you are using a merge document, choose Paragraph)

5.    Click OK and repeat for each of the wfx styles you wish to use.

NOTE: Since Word styles based on the Paragraph style apply to an entire line or cell, ensure that each piece of information is on a separate line. If desired, the text may be hidden.

NOTE: A paragraph style controls all aspects of a paragraph's appearance, such as text alignment, tab stops, line spacing, and borders, and it can include character formatting. A character style affects selected text within a paragraph, such as the font and size of text, and bold and italic formats.
