    Hi guys,

As far as I can tell (i’ve only got 1 fax line) I can send faxes without a problem (if I send to my phone line i’ll hear the fax tones).

However, when trying to receive faxes using manual mode it says ‘Answering..’ then it fails, giving a red cross next to the fax with the message – ‘Call Cancelled’

    HELP!

I’m using XP SP2 and a gembird internal fax modem

    Thanks in advance!

ModemSite has some very good information on the Smartlink fax modems.

If your using Windows XP SP2, make sure you have the v4.20 version of the drivers. (v3.80 is not XP SP2 compatible)

you can check to confirm what Smartlink drivers are installed by checking the modem in Windows XP

make sure you actually do have a Smartlink chipset before updating with a Smartlink driver.

updated drivers for Smartlink are available in our Premium Downloads section.
