if the phonebook is detected as “read only” , then you cannot delete the entry.

this is determined when the phonebook is created, if its an ACT! phonebook or another third-party add in link, then it will be read only and you cannot delete from within WinFax.

what kind of phonebook is it? is it linked? if so, you can’t delete the entry, it has to be done in the source program that created the phonebook.

its also possible the phonebook may be a native winfax phonebook but is corrupted in some way , so that WinFax thinks it is a read-only phonebook. You might want to try “rebuilding” the phonebook using the rebuild tool in WinFax

just make sure you have a backup before attemping any rebuild to any database type file.

I finally had enough problems with Winfax Pro that I deleted the entire program and bought Fax Talk Pro.

It is almost a copy of Winfax and is working perfectly for the short time (2 days) that I am using it. Send over 700 faxes as I type.
