how do i determine if my pc supports either pci or pcie versions?

if purchasing a brand new fax board/modem, are all required parts or cables included?

If purchasing a used one, drivers can normally be downloaded but what is with any other required items?

Usually all required components are included with the fax modem when you buy new from a dealer or from the manufacturer. Its usually consists of the actual hardware card, the software drivers and port/line splitters (if necessary for the model you are purchasing)

As for used, that depends on the seller. Some modems require “dongles/splitters” that split the line. (some models might only have 4 telephone jacks, and if its a 8 line modem it would come with 4 splitters to give you a total of 8 lines.) You’d have to ask the person selling you the card if everything is included. If not, then you would have to contact the manufacturer to purchase missing items (if they are available)

As for whether your PC has PCI or PCIe support, you’d have to check with your PC vendor or consult the motherboard manual.
