    Whenever I try to send a fax via WinFax to a long distance number I get the error “No Carrier”. I am able to send a fax to my own number and that will go through correctly. I have tried various formats for the fax number.

    I am using version 10.0 of WinFax and Windows XP Home.

    The modem is a US Robotics 56K PCI Fax Modem-Model 5660.
    It is internal, Class 1, and Using TAPI Port Mode.

    make sure your dialing settings are properly configured in WinFax for long distance dialing
