ParticipantI could not receive faxes all of a sudden but could fax out no problem. it would answer the fax but would not do training speed and/or receiving page on fax display that pops up when call comes in. if you shut off and turn on again you could get 1 fax but not after that. However!, some fax machines I could always get a fax.

KeymasterDo you have any other fax device (like a fax machine) on the same line where you receive faxes? It is possible that this could interfere with the fax modem, and WinFax. If you do, try disconnecting the other device temporarily, or change the number of rings to answer to a higher value, such as 4-5 rings.
Do you have WinFax set to answer in 2, or more rings? Do not set this to 1.
Turn off the option “Disable Call waiting when receiving faxes” in WinFax.
Try sending a test fax to 1-888-473-2963 , you’ll receive a return fax to test your incoming fax (within 5 minutes of your test send) (for this to work, you cannot block your telephone number)

ParticipantI noticed when the first time receiving a fax after controller and winfax fully open whenever it takes first call it takes 20 to 30 seconds for winfax call status showing a picture of a fax machine to appear on screen. after the first time then it appears simutanusly with the next calls. Is this normal?

KeymasterWindows may be loading the animation for the fax machine. The second time it may already be loaded in memory.
With a fast machine it is not normal, for a slower machine it may be normal. -
