btw, I did not see anything wrong with 10.0 under XP, and did not see any improvement in 10.02. Looks like there are now 2 services running instead of 1, but the benefit of that is unclear.
January 6, 2002 at 9:49 pm #4497AnonymousMemberAfter Symantec responded that SDK is not supported, I exploited the fact that their Word Winfax Merge macro is using SDKSend (contrary to Print2Winfax which just switches the printer and prints out). I tried Winfax merge in Word, and, as expected, it did not work in the same fashion as SDKSend. The macros are still supported, so now I’ve got the following response from Symantec:
I understand that you are having difficulty doing a mail merger with Microsoft Word XP and WinFax PRO 10.02. Have you had a chance to take a look at the following documentation? The way in which you do a mail merge with Word XP and WinFax PRO is slightly different, but it has been tested and can be done. If you are having difficulties, please see the following documentation for step by step instructions on how to set this up.Title: ‘How to do a Word XP mail merge using WinFax Pro’
Document ID: 2001111208344804
> Web URL: http://service1.symantec.com/support….n&src=w
(the documentation merely describes the form shown by the macro, teaching how to fill the fields)I think it would be nice is others tried if Winfax 10.02 Merge macro works in Word XP under Windows XP (or perhaps not only in the above combination), and if it does not, supported my claim in Symantec forum. The url of the incident is http://servicenews.symantec.com/cgi-bin….e=41756
March 16, 2002 at 7:54 pm #4498AnonymousMemberOn a Windows XP system, I installed Norton SystemWorks 2002 which includes a copy of WinFax Basic Edition 10.02. I then tried the GetFaxing.com macro (which uses PrintFromApp) for the Merge process..and it worked.
Has anyone tried the SDK PrintFromApp function with WinFax Basic Edition 10.02 (bundled with Norton SystemWorks 2002) to confirm this??
It is possible that the 10.02 in Basic Edition and the 10.02 in WinFax PRO are different builds ???
April 21, 2002 at 8:33 pm #4499AnonymousMemberHas anyone tried WinFax Basic Edition 10.02 with success? I could not reproduce problems stated here with 10.02 Basic Edition, which leads me to believe the builds are different.
Of course, many features are not available in Basic Edition 10.02, so it really isn’t a solution.May 29, 2003 at 5:41 am #4500AnonymousMemberPlease see message

about the release of 10.03 version.
June 3, 2003 at 7:55 am #4501AnonymousMemberOn my XP system, I uninstalled version 10.02 and re-installed version 10.0
It seems to work perfectly.
🙂July 23, 2003 at 7:56 am #4502AnonymousMemberIf anybody is interested I have spent the last 2 days trying to get the SDK to work in an MSAccess program with WinFax 10.03 on a XP machine.
It should have set the alarm bells ringing when I saw that 10.03 does not have the SDK on the CD.
Everything I tried would not work in the end I removed 10.03 and re-installed 10.0 and the routine worked first time. So much for the updated version to work with XP!
