i open winfax pro 10.02 on an XP machine which has been working fine for years and i get the following error: Winfax pro has encountered a problem and needs to close. Then if i click on don’t send report to microsoft it closes. I tried to rebuild and optimize but i didn’t do any good. any other suggestions???

do you get this error when you start the WinFax Controller (yellow icon in the system tray) or when you start Message Manager?

Did this problem start after receiving a failed fax?

it looks like one of the faxes in the receive log might be bad but i don’t know how to get it out since i can’t open the message manager. i tried deleting it from the data folder.

    shut down the WinFax Controller.

go to the registry editor (start, run , regedit)

    find the following key

    HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareDelrinaWinFax7.0MDILogViewOption

    change the (hex) value to:

    adb

(its probably set to the hex value “add”)

Now start WinFax PRO Controller and Message Manager. Click on the Receive Log.
    Remove the offending received fax.
