Click Start, Run, Copy and paste the following line:
%systemdrive%Documents and Settings%Username%Start MenuProgramsStartup
click OK. This will display the Startup programs that activate on your computer, for your specific account.
Repeat for the following to display programs for all accounts:
%systemdrive%Documents and SettingsAll UsersStart MenuProgramsStartup
Start, All Programs, Startup also displays programs that activate for your account. If these programs did not start, then you successfully held down the SHIFT key while logging on.
Other software, such as Anti-Virus software does not use the startup up method so they will start with Windows because they are configured in the HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftCurrentVersionRun and HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESoftwareMicrosoftCurrentVersionRun entries in the Windows Registry.
To disable these programs, you must use the MSCONFIG.EXE , click on STARTUP Tab, and deselect the programs you do not want to load. (MSConfig is available Start, Run, MSCONFIG, or in WinFax Tools, Install & Setup Tools.September 9, 2009 at 7:01 pm #7792ringadealMemberthanks again for a most informative reply. Even after disabling startup programs, error still persists as well as the no page fix required to be used about once a day. Hence, we are very buggy here and I refuse to resort to another fax program. Are you confident you can troubleshoot the problem with remote access to my computer? I would be willing to pay for this service if you feel this would help.
thanks!
September 10, 2009 at 4:50 pm #7793AdministratorKeymasterIf you are having to use WinFax Tools No Pages Fix everyday, there is something failing with the WinFax printer drivers. I’m not sure if it is related to the error when you are sending faxes, but it is possible.
If you like , we can review your setup via remote so we can see exactly your configuration/setup, and how you are sending these faxes. If we cannot resolve the issue, we don’t charge our remote fee. If you want to set something up, email us at [email protected]
September 14, 2009 at 5:50 pm #7794ringadealMemberokay, i wonder if this would provide a clue as to why the “memory could not be read” error is occuring. I now realize exactly at which times in the fax sending process this error occurs. It will most often occur just when the fax sending status reads “negotiating”. Otherwise, it happens just when a complete page has transmitted (i.e. page 2 of 3 100% complete, or page 1 of 2 100% complete or even 3 of 3 100% complete)

So it appears at least after a page has been completed, and can appear after after page 2 but only in between sending (during the negotiation stage, or the end of page/transmission) and never in the middle of a fax page send?
September 16, 2009 at 3:43 pm #7796ringadealMemberfrom my recent observation, it only occurs when a page has completly transmitted. If I do remember correctly, it may have happened in the middle of a page’s trasmital but am not sure about this.

I’ve sent you a PM, let us know if you would like us to take a look at this via Remote access.
