I am doing a fresh install of all my software onto a new computer. XP is installed, as well as Word 2003. When I try to install Winfax macro, I get the error message: Could not install: Path was not found or Word is not installed.

    Any ideas?
    Thanks

    Hi,

This is a problem with new fresh installs of Word 2003 (without upgrading from Word 2000 or 2002), here is what you can try

If you have problems installing the macro using the supplied installer or WinFax Macro installer, you can manually install the macro by copying the wfword2k.dot template file to the OfficeStartup or Office10Startup directory.

The default directory for Word 2000 is:

    PROGRAM FILESMICROSOFT OFFICEOFFICESTARTUP

The default directory for Word XP/2002 is:

    :PROGRAM FILESMICROSOFT OFFICEOFFICE10STARTUP

I am assuming the Word 2003 default directory is MICROSOFT OFFICEOFFICE11STARTUP or possibly OFFICE2003STARTUP

If you find it to be another directory, please let us know.

    Glad that worked
What was the directory path you installed the macro in?
