Win Fax does not recognize when either a page or en tire message is sent successfully.
It sends it 3 times then quits with an error message.
I have had a VOIP phone system for 2 years but this has just recently changed.

    Sending and Receiving Faxes
If your message is regarding sending or receiving faxes, make sure you include your fax modem information. What is the fax modem manufacturer/and model name? What is the initialization string setup? Is it a CLASS 1 or CLASS 2.0/2 modem? Internal or External? Using COM PORT or TAPI PORT mode?

    #7701

Data Fax Voice internal modem is ESS ES56T – P1

Control panel indicates it is connected through com3.

Winfax thinks it is a class 1 modem and uses TAPI port.

    Initialization setup is:
    AT&F&D2&C1+1FC=2,2;S7=5

what is the error message that appears in the send log after transmission?

To see the error , you must be viewing in DETAILS mode. click on DETAILS in the window below the send log.

I do not appear to have “info” but the following is noted under “Details”
    0 of 1 pages sent
    Fine resolution
    1 min 50 seconds at 4800
    2 retries
Call canceled on last attempt (because I called recipient and 2 copies had been received).

On the receive side it simply says “Call canceled.”

sorry, I incorrectly used “Info” instead of “Details.” I’ve corrected that in my original message.

As for the fax error, does this problem exist only when sending to this fax machine, or every fax you transmit?

You can try turning off hardware Flow Control and removing the AT+IFC=2,2; from the flow control entry.

It is only this machine that has the problem.

I removed those characters but that did not correct the problem. I also unchecked the default with the same result.

It shows current page 100% complete when I look at details but then saves back to the Outbox with the following note: “No acknowledgment received on last attempt.” Only after 3 tries does it save to send Directory.

I also did modem test & got:
    COM3: Modem found
This modem supports: Fax, Data, Voice
    with speakerphone capabilities.
Max fax transmit speed: 14400 bps
Max fax receive speed: 14400 bps
    Fax Class: Class 1
    Voice Type: Voice101

You can try updating your Modem Drivers from the ESS Web Site. The latest that appears for your modem is 08/29/2001, version 4.43.052.1 (Windows XP)
    http://esstech.com/techsupp/drivers.shtm#comm

You can also try using AT&F at the initialization setting (removing the the rest of the characters) and unchecking hardware flow control and all other settings.

It is possible it is a compatibility problem or line noise issue with that fax machine and your fax modem.

I tried to download the driver but it hangs up.
I tried various combinations of items but failed.
My printer is also a fax and is able to send faxes.

    Is there anything else?

the web site was working last time I checked, it looks lik e it is down now.

What version of driver are you using now? See:
    http://esstech.com/techsupp/faq-identify.shtm#modem

I've attached a copy of the drivers
    ES2898/ES2828
