Installed Winfax 10.03 on system operating under XP SP2 and using a Vodaphone Connect Card for laptop internet access. The message manager is showing in system tray stating ‘ready to receive on Fusion UMTS Quad-GPRS-3G modem’. However no connection can be made from a friend’s fax machine and if I use my phone to ring and try and detect a fax tone, the response is 3 short beeps and and phone display shows ‘Error in connection’. The modem Port is set to TAPI and properties show modem is connected to a cellular phone with ECM Send/Receive and High Sp compression 2D enabled. Can anyone help – in simple terms please for a novice user.
From the Option.com Web site:
Sending faxes with the Globetrotter PC card is not possible. The Multiplexing drivers do not support the FAX protocol necessary for this feature.
