Just finished getting Winfax Pro 10.3 installed and I tried sending out my first fax from a Microsoft Word document. I first set my fax program that came with my computer (I’m assuming it was a msfax program). I set it up to be offline in the printer and fax drop down box. I then set up winfax to be online. I opened up the microsoft word document. Selected print and then chose winfax as the printer I wanted to use. It came up with the following message

Winfax is not active for this user account. Please start controller again. Any suggestions on what to do next?

make sure “wfxsnt40.exe” process is active
(found in %windir%system32wfxsnt40.exe)

and wfxswtch.exe is also active process.
(for Windows XP only using WinFax PRO 10.02/10.03 and 10.04)

if these two apps are not running, you’ll get this error message. If you continue to get this error, start the controller first “wfxctl32.exe” in the WinFax directory (after verifying that the above two apps are active)
before printing to the WinFax PRO printer driver.

also confirm “wfxctl32.exe” is NOT set to compatibility mode!
