Unfortunately, there are no new developments from Symantec for this problem. If you are planning on using SDK functionality, and are also using WinFax PRO 10.02 (the latest release) with Windows XP — it will not work…

MemberI just started developing in 10.02, and I am a bit worried to see that 10.02 won’t work on XP.
It looks to me like I will have to make sure that anyone running XP gets a 10.00 or 10.01 version.
My question is: Will the program I have made with the 10.02 SDK work with 10.00 or 10.01 ?
I use COM, and do pretty basic stuff – just adding recipients and attaching an existing document.Karin

MemberYou are kidding, right? This is the exact combination I have been given by a client. My Excel macro (to make fxs files with the MakeAttachment method) that works fine in Win98 and Excel2000. Runs without error in WinXP and ExcelXP, but produces no files.
If this will not work, what will work with WinXP and ExcelXP?
Thanks

MemberWhat is the problem? What happens?
Does WinNT or Win2000 have the same problem?
I am using WinXP, and my app can successfully send a fax, should I consider myself lucky that I have v10.0 and not v10.02?May 15, 2003 at 6:45 am #4646chrisb01
MemberIs there any way to revert a 10.02 installation to a 10.00 version… or at leat just the SDK dlls??
I have 10.00 on Windows 2000, but I developed a VB script to do faxing on customers systems… I can’t control what version they get, so they sometimes get 10.02 and install it on XP. Perhaps if I overlay their SDK dll’s with my 10.00 ones, then I get get it working?

MemberI sure there is a way, but it would involve figuring out ALL the files that need to be replaced, and that would be no easy task. I would just reinstall version 10.0 overtop and hope that works.
