Every now and then when I try to scan and the winfax interface will abort. After that selecting scan and send gives the error message: WinFax PRO send dialog is currently in use.

Is there anyway to fix this without rebooting?

Yes. What you can do is in WinFax Tools, select “End all WinFax Tasks”
When prompted to close the WinFax Port Starter (or WfxSwtch) select No.
Allow WinFax to close (it should do this automatically)
Then click Start Controller.

WinFax should now start up properly without having to reboot the PC.
