    My business sends out a nightly fax that goes to nearly three hundred customers. We connect it through our back phone line when we leave for the day, and the faxes are processed throughout the night.

    We’ve been getting calls the past few days from angry local residents who say they’ve been receiving calls from our fax at 2 and 3 in the morning. Is this due to a settings error? None of the numbers we usually fax to are local, but the proper area codes are included in the phonebook.

    Anybody ever experienced this?

    I’d suggest checking the local numbers to your phonebook to see if any of them match (without the area code)
    its possible an area code was dropped or you have some incorrect dialing settings configured in WinFax. Your location settings in WinFax may have been changed therefore causing your dialing settings to be incorrect for your specific location.
