    I have a new computer runing Windows XP with a CXT PCI Soft Data Fax Modem with SmartCP modem installed. Manufacturer installed Winfax. It is set up to auto receive. Overnight it stops receiving and the winfax icon in the tray is not blue. I have to restart the computer to get it receiving again.

    try setting the modem to use com port instead of TAPI (of vice versa)

    see if the problem persists.
