    Hi,
I’ve been having problems with winfax 10.3, some of our clients receive faxes and some don’t even when winfax states they went out.

Are there any modems that work well with xp sp2 and winfax? I have a feeling it’s the modem, I use to have winfax running on Win 98 and it worked fine with an AOPEN Modem but when the pc was changed to xp sp2 that modem no longer worked so it was replaced with a US Robotics, which works for the most part but again like i stated above even if winfax says they went out some clients state they are not receiving our faxes.

Are there any alternatives to winfax that anyone can suggest or changes I can make to the software to solve this problem?

    Thank you.

in order of preference for use with WinFax :

    1. external serial fax modems (non usb modems) or internal fax modems (controller based modems or hardware modems)
    2. internal or external fax DSP modems (controller-less modems)
    3. internal soft-modems (software driven modems, win-modems)

Your US Robotics probably falls into #3 or #2 category.
    you can check here:

    and,

(these links are by no means a recommendation of these specific brands of modems )

if your doing more then occasional faxing, then I recommend controller-based fax modems.
