it appears you have some conflict with another software or device.
if you have other fax printers you should disable them.
you should only have winfax pro and winfax pro photo quality printers for faxingAdministratorKeymasterend all winfax tasks
make sure nothing winfax related is active in fax process windows
terminate / disable winfax service if active (wfxsvc.exe)if you cannot terminate all tasks, they have to be done manually from Task Manager/Process/Right-Click ‘End Process”)
wfxctl32.exe
wfxmod32.exe

Only added the printer. Winfax was working in conjunction with it just fine before. I did not add any faxing program to my knowledge. Printer was installed 2 mos ago. Winfax problem recent. I can delete printer and re-add it, but dont think that is the problem.
what model printer and does it have fax capability? can you plug a telephone line into it?
you can try changing the communication port from TAPI to COM3 in WinFax and see if that worksAdministratorKeymaster@dwalters711 wrote:
updated driver, verified in API 3 as version that you said it would update to.
Modem installed on com 3
not sure if other com ports are being used, only other connections are to internet.
recenty installed a wireless printer where faxes are ultimately printedif your wireless printer includes a fax option, and you installed fax software as part of the installation of the printer drivers then it probably will interfere with WinFax PRO.
AdministratorKeymasterwhat com port is the modem installed on?
what other devices are installed on the pc that may be using a com port?
did the update driver work? and is the modem now updated to latest drivers by verifying the version in ATi3 in modem queryAdministratorKeymasteryou can try this:
If you are using Windows XP then download and install latest drivers for the modem here (version 7.67.50)

enter your download/winfax tools user name/password to download this file. Enter it manually, do not cut & paste from your e-mail. Save it to a location on your hard drive.File Details:

1. uninstall / remove the Modem from Control Panel/Phone & Modem.
2. Run the driver .exe you downloaded above to install the latest modem driver software.
3. After driver installation is complete, re-do the modem query in Windows/Control Panel. Modem should now report version 7.67.50 in the ATi3 command response.
4. Reboot computer.
5. After reboot, reconfigure WinFax PRO (hold down SHIFT-Properties in modem setup) set auto-answer to 2 or more rings. Blue orb around WinFax icon should appear if ready to answer calls.AdministratorKeymasterwhat is the name and model of the fax modem
what com port is it connected to
in Control Panel, Phone & Modem it will list the model name and com port.
Click the Modems Tab.
Click the Modem name.
Click on Properties
Click Diagnostic Tab.
Click Query Modem. What does the modem report here?AdministratorKeymasterGood to hear. Guess it was a hardware compatibility problem.
AdministratorKeymasterglad to hear that is working now.
after changing the slot, what is the IRQ setting for the modem? It is a lower IRQ? (< 16?)AdministratorKeymaster@ringadeal wrote:

yes, that indicates the rebuild utility wasn’t able to repair the database.
Here is how you can remove/erase everything out of your outbox/sent items folder/transaction folder and start over with a new database files
The following process will clear/erase EVERYTHING from your:
1. Outbox
2. Sent items folder
3. Transaction Log.Set FaxTalk to Work off-line mode (File, Work Off line) and close FaxTalk. Make sure no faxes are being transmitted/received before you continue.
Now locate the Outbox folder in the Thought Communications/FaxTalk data folder, to do this — from Start, type “%programdata%” in the search field, press enter.
This will open the “ProgramData” folder window. Search for and double click the “Thought Communications” folder.
Double click the “FaxTalk” folder
Rename the “Outbox” folder to a new name, such as “Outbox-Corrupt”
Create a new, empty folder called “Outbox”
Now start FaxTalk, select Work on-line, and send 1 test fax. The logs now should show you an empty sent items folder (0 items), transaction log (0 items) and 1 item in the outboxAdministratorKeymasterI believe the limit is 100,000 faxes that can be displayed in the outbox but the processing of the outbox items should continue.
AdministratorKeymasterYes what you describe does appears to be a problem with the database.
Do you (or did you before this problem) have 340,000+ faxes/entries in your Sent Log?
Have you contacted FaxTalk technical support directly? There is a rebuild option available that can check the inbox, outbox and transaction database. You can try this (at your own risk)
Start FaxTalk Backup program (from the Start, FaxTalk Multiline Server Program Group)
Click on the “Restore” Tab. (Do not select or click any option here, you are not restoring any data)
Press F12. (Make sure your keyboard is in normal function key mode, if applicable)
You should see some pointer activity. After completed, click the “Log” tab. When the rebuild is completed, the Log should report something like this:
Processing Inbox database–XXX records reported, XX records found, X records damaged, X records fixed.
Processing Outbox database–XXX records reported, XXX records found, X records damaged, X records fixed.
Processing Transaction database–XXX records reported, XXX records found, X records damaged, X records fixed. -
