Dear Moderator,
Thanks for your suggestions. I did it and it worked. Here are my new limits:
Your default send log folder is 39% full.
Your default receive log folder is 10% full.Received Fax (*.FXR files) slots available (Maximum of 10,000) : 8910
Send Fax slots (.FXD Files) available (Maximum of 10,000) : 6036Cover Page Text files (*.CVR files) total count is : 867
Do you think I’ll have any trouble backing up WinFax with these limits?
Thanks and be well,

Thanks,
~ ElliotElliotMemberOne other diagnostic fact. My feature to print a document through my Epson printer/fax also is not working. It is telling me that there is a communication error. That did not cause the WinFax problem. I only tried to use because WinFax is down. The printer/fax is printing fine and faxing out paper documents just fine.
Thanks,
~ ElliotElliotMemberDear Moderator,
WinFax opens up and then hangs up. I have already used WinFax Tools to rebuild the logs. Here are the stats when I check limits:
Your default send log folder is 76% full.
Your default receive log folder is 10% full.WARNING: Your send log folder is 76% full.
You should consider moving faxes or deleting older faxes.Received Fax (*.FXR files) slots available (Maximum of 10,000) : 8909
Send Fax slots (.FXD Files) available (Maximum of 10,000) : 2399Cover Page Text files (*.CVR files) total count is : 1485
I would clean up my send log if I could get into it.
Thanks for your help,
~ ElliotElliotMemberThanks for your help. I know how to use the backup routine in the WinFax program but other than simply copying data files, how do I do a manual backup?
Thanks,
~ ElliotElliotMemberDear Moderator,
Thanks. Your suggestion seemed to have worked. By the way, I have had error messages when I’ve tried to back up WinFax. Could the error be caused by my having too many data files?
Thanks for your help,
~ ElliotElliotMemberDear Moderator,
My Winfax suddenly is also hanging up at start up. It had been running fine for over a year without a problem. I do not want to lose my phone books or cover pages. What would you suggest? I use WinFax every day all day so this is important to me.
Thanks,
~ ElliotElliotMemberHello Moderator,
Under the Main Messages folder I have subdirectories for each year, i.e. Archive Faxes 2007, Archive Faxes 2008, Archive Faxes 2009 etc. I can see faxes in the other subdirectories. There is a Archive Faxes folder for 2011 and there are fxr and fxd files in the Winfax data directory that are dated in 2011. How can I get Winfax to “see” those 2011 data files?
Thanks for your help,
~ ElliotElliotMemberDear Moderator,
Thanks for your question. I only have two WFB files in the WinFax/Data directory; MY-Ph-BK.wfb and Status.wfb. Again, there are many *.fxr files that I received in 2011 that I can open using the WiFax Pro Viewer. I cannot find them within the WinFax Program received files.
Thanks,
~ ElliotElliotMemberDear Moderator,
Thanks for your attempt to help with my problem. I followed your instructions and I still can see all the faxes that I could see before so I am no worse off. I archive my faxes by year. It is the 2011 faxes that I still can’t “see.” They are definitely in the data directory. I open them up using Explore and they open up using WinFax Pro Viewer. It looks like all the 2011 fxd and fxr files are there just fine.
Now that I followed your instructions, where in WinFax may I be able to see any of my 2011 files? What Message Folder might they be in? I have looked at my various archive message folders and cannot see any 2011 faxes (sent or received). They are not in the default send or receive message folders. Should I rebuild the log? Should I import a log into my 2011 message folder?
Thanks for any help you can give me,
~ ElliotElliotMemberHello All,
I had trouble with my Winfax and ended up doing a reinstall. I had previously saved and then copied all the files in the WinFax data directory after the install. All the 2011 fxd and fxr files are in the data directory but I cannot see them in WinFax. I have rebuilt and optimized the logs using the bat files but still cannot “see” the 2011 faxes I have sent and received. I can’t get the import command to import the 2011 files into WinFax. I can see the files anytime by opening them up in Explore. The Winfax viewer opens the files up without a problem but it would be much easier to see them within the WinFax program.
Thanks,
~ Elliot -
