U mean I dont need to reinstall another instance of Winfax 10.04. But just double click another Winfax controller. But I think it is not what u mean. How can I open another instance of Winfax (i.e. what u mean by another instance of host)?

Many thanks for any great idea.:)

2 modems can only be used on one PC. You can configure multiple hosts, and each host can have 2 modems..so you could setup two different hosts, run a merge on one machine to one host and another merge on the other host. 4 modems are sending faxes now.

or, you can use another software to send faxes as Host that uses WinFax PRO as a front end. Those two are http://www.faxback.com and http://www.rightfax.com

Without using the two new software (rightfax…faxback.com software), how can I configure two new hosts with Winfax 10.04…?

Many thanks for any great idea. :;): :;):

no need. I try and come to find to fix the problem…. there is no longer above warning now.

I managed to fine-tune all details of the modem (both sending, receipt for suffix or prefix input…tick or not tick two modems that I am working at)…which is great…..Thks u all for your support….

But then come another warning. When I come to pull down the menu under prefix or suffix of sending-modems, there appear the error “A General Protection Fault/Exception has occured.”………I just wanna to know what is the cause of it….(i wonder it must be related to the power failure and multiple user which is missing after power failure)…I also wanna know if this “”A General Protection Fault/Exception has occured.” error might implies other potential errors in the future? If no potential errors is forseen, we will live with it for the moment….

😎 😎 (anyway I have fixed the fine-tuning of sending and receiving modems; thks anyway):)

i wonder if it works by removing all users in Symdiag.exe dialogue (one submenu namely regacces.exe….so that there is no body using the winfax at all.

I have tried this…then there is no more warning of “Another user on this computer is using…”…and the outbox pending comes out again (those outbox pending before the power failure)..

But then I cannot set the features of the modems…the two modems I used to broadcast showed there as usual but with some features like setting prefix hidden…..

Do I just need to remove the modem in Windows and reinstall it back…

The maintenance utility cannot be loaded from within the tool tab under message manager. We then load the maintenance utility from the program/winfax directory, by executing the SymDiag.exe.

But we have done all by clicking all options within Symdiag.exe dialogue (including restore all default settings)..

We then wonder if it is the power failure that make the temp file so bulky that it warns the symptom we are talking here.

I then delete all temp under program/winfax…but the effect is minimal.

Any great idea? Thks u all very much…:)

“If you are sending a lot of faxes, you don’t have control of the order they are sent.” Yes.. That is my concept……I have no control of order when I generate the print-merge….:)

As I mentioned, I have never set any password or firewall in between the four PCs. So is there any super account or software that I can tune in all 4 pcs? :;):

any idea….so that I can tune in all Winfax sharing clients and server…which ,I believe, was mainly because of bottleneck in Window sharing itself under network neigbourhood….:)

I know what u mean by FIFO…..(first in first out)…But when it comes to print-merge, i have hundreds of print merge for one single documents, which one goes first into the queue of FIFO? it seems so random for Winfax…, not FIFO…

From the begininning to now, I have not installed MS fax on the 2003 server at all. So it is simply Winfax 10.04 (also previous versions too as I have tried them) that cannot install the Winfax driver… Is there a fix around as my simple job is broadcast a simple advertisement to all customers using Winfax in 2003 server?

I have tried a simple change to my existing printer driver LaserJet driver by unchecking its LPT1 port and then checking it as a Winfax driver. Then I print my word advertisement from my MS Word 2003. It prints out to the normal winfax windows but with only a quick coverpage, and nothing else. But at lease it pops out the winfax windows for my sending of faxes.

Then I tried using the cover page wizard to amend the cover page. I do it by copy my word advertisement on to the cover page. It display great there on the cover page. But it is totally greyed cover page if I send it to other computer. Is there any tricks around it?

I have wonder if the following method works. I fax it from another XP PC with that advertisement to this 2003 server and them save it as fax image. Does it work if this received fax image can be used for my broadcasting from 2003 server?

Ok….Can u give me a personal advice whether Winfax can be installed or not, no matter what Symantec officially said. Also, are u familar with 2003 Server Microsoft Fax? Does it crash with Winfax? I mean can it be coexistent with Winfax in 2003 server?
