Well that explains a lot, thanks. 🙂
While looking in the manual for the CNG tones I found out that it’ll support another fax machine/modem if it’s plugged into the fax machine’s phone jack.
So I think it all works fine now, thank you all for your help. 😀

Well I’m sure I wire something wrong.

DSL and DSL Filter on a splitter in the phone socket.
Fax machine and my PC’s fax on a splitter which connects to the back of the DSL Filter.

I think its the second splitter on the back of DSL Filter.
I wonder if a 3way splitter and 2 DSL Filters (one for each fax) would work?

I’ll monkey around with that tommorrow.

    Many thanks JohnD 🙂

I Unchecked the Asian Languages support.
Then I went to “Details” then “Advanced” tab
Uncheck “Extend support of advanced text service to all programs.”
And Unchecked the other option below it too.
    Clicked Apply, then OK.
    Restarted the computer
(I’d left the “Location” in “Region Options” as Canada, but as it turns out its OK)

But Now the setup works, I can add phone numbers into the address book too.
    software seems fine. 😀

I tried faxing but it came out on the fax machine here instead of faxing to there.
I think I’ll have to track the wiring down. :O

Thanks Moderator, I tried it but wtnsetup still crashes.

There must be a DLL version conflict or something like that.
So what happens if I run the DCOM95.EXE and 40COMUPD.EXE???

I also noticed the DEBUGON.REG and DEBUGOFF.REG in the WinFax folder.
Is there a usage guide on the Debug?

So I tried to add a recieptiant.
I can type a name, anything else crashes WinFax Pro and then WFP disappears (dropping be back to my desktop).

I’ve uninstalled, reinstalled using the default install.
    Same problem.

I’d like to mention that after the first 2 installs, when I get to the CSID section I just enter it then click next.
Because adding a fax/phone number crashes the installer, I reboot and there was no Winfax pro icons.
Forcing me to delete it through the Control Panel’s “Add/Remove Software” function.

The Region/Languages Settings thing doesn’t see to help me at all, but I did notice there’s a checkmark in the option for “Install support for east asian languages”.
And the Standards/Formats is English (USA) with the Region set to Canada.
Do either regional setting make a difference?
