I’m not sure how to answer that. All my menus and screens are in English, but I do have Hebrew installed and can switch keyboards between English and Hebrew if I wish.
normanMemberWhen I drag & drop a txt file or a pdf file onto the preview thumbnail window on the left window pane of the Send Fax Dialog box (opened by launching the SendAFax.fxj file as you described), nothing happens; indeed, the drag symbol assumes its ‘no entry’ form, indicating an illegal action.
I think I’ll let the matter go for now. We do not seem to be getting anywhere and the time involved no longer appears to be worth the intended reward. Thank you again.
normanMemberI reinstalled WinFax (without first uninstalling), but that made no difference.
It may be that there is an association problem with the txt files, but I don’t see how that could be so with pdf files since I installed a new version of Adobe Reader (9.4.7), at your suggestion, and that didn’t help. And I have my doubts with txt files as well. We have been fiddling with the association entries in XP for both txt and pdf files for some time now (see previous posts), but have not been able to fix Drag and Drop Depot.
But even if you are right, and reinstalling Windows would solve the problem, I do not consider the hassle and effort and time involved justified, just to get Drag and Drop Depot to work properly. So thank you for your attempt to solve the problem, but I have decided to forgo the ultimate solution.

normanMemberI do not have MS Word or Excel installed; I use MS viewers and third party software to open .doc and .xls files.
txt: I don’t know what you mean by “Does Notepad not attach files?”. Perhaps you will find the answer in my post of Jan 3, 5:01pm.
When I associate Notepad with .txt files, double-clicking on a .txt file opens it in Notepad, and
open shows notepad.exe %1
print shows notepad.exe /p “%1”
printto is absent.normanMemberNo and yes, in that order: with the WinFax Pro printer as default, drag and drop of a pdf file DOES NOT convert the file, but right-click > print does open the WinFax Send Screen with the pdf file converted to fax.
normanMemberI saw your addendum after posting the above reply.
I installed version 9.4.7. The ‘open’ verb is the only one there, ‘print’ and ‘printto’ are absent.
The entries under ‘open’ are exactly as you describe (except that the path under “Application Used…” points to my AcroRd32 directory).
The Drag and Drop Depot behaves as before the update.normanMemberI upgraded from version 9.0.0 to 9.2.0
assoc.pdf gives .pdf=AcroExch.Document
ftype AcroExch.Document gives AcroExch.Document=”E:AcrobatReaderAcroRd32.exe” “%1”
Dropping a pdf link onto the Drag and Drop Depot icon launches the WinFax send screen but only my cover page is displayed, not the pdf file; in other words, no change since using version 9.0.0.normanMemberAdding /h makes no difference.

normanMemberBingo! Well, one for three, anyway.
tif: current association, IrfanView; when changed to Windows default (Windows Picture and Fax Viewer), Send Fax screen DOES display the tif file when it is dropped on Drag and Drop Depot icon. No error messages.
txt: current association, UltraEdit32; when changed to Windows default (Notepad), Send Fax screen DOES NOT display the txt file when it is dropped on Drag and Drop Depot icon. No error messages.
pdf: current association, Foxit Reader; when changed to Adobe Reader 9.0, Send Fax screen DOES NOT display the pdf file when it is dropped on Drag and Drop Depot icon. No error messages.normanMember1. I do not know whether the Drag and Drop Depot worked before using tif or txt files, as I didn’t try.
2. The TARGET field of the shortcut tab points to WFXCTL32.EXE with -fd flags, as it should, and the ‘Start In’ entry is correct as well.
3. The WinFax Controller icon is in the notification area (system tray) of my taskbar, ready to receive.normanMemberThis may be relevant: when I drop an fxr file onto the Drag and Drop Depot icon, the Send Fax screen opens as it should, displaying both my cover page and the fxr file; there are no error messages.
