i managed to delete all sent items entries and am now back on track thanks for all your help
ringadealMemberyes i am suspicious i have too many sent items as the log states sent items is 94% full. i don’t mind deleting all sent items entries
after repairing the logs and phonebooks the application opens but when clicking on a sent items entry to delete some entries, the application then freezes
ringadealMemberthanks for your reply
however when trying to open winfaxtools163.exe i receive the error that features have expires when choosing to update the following message appears:
No update is currently available for WinFax ToolsYour current version is 1.0.63
The latest version available is 1.0.63ringadealMemberwe will eagerly await your reply to the most recent post, thanks!
ringadealMemberafter all this time, there is still a discrepancy between the outbox window and the status box. The Status box reads 190,000 items and the main outbox only 9 items. Lines are still toggling between establishing connection and idle so whereas previously a handful of faxes have successfully transmitted from our previous fax campaign (from items that were not visually displayed in the main outbox), no faxes are transmitting anymore. In your previous post you mentioned that after doing the rebuild, the outbox should read as follows:
“Processing Transaction database–XXX records reported, XXX records found, X records damaged, X records fixed. “However, instead it read “failure during processing” so I am assuming the necessary repairs have not been performed to the oubox.ringadealMemberthanks so much
outbox log reads: failure during processingwhat we are now noticing is that the fax status box reads 190,000 faxes which is still feeding off of our previous fax campaign but bottom left screen of main oubox window reads only 7 faxes, which are the ones we manually configured for troubleshooting.
The faxes are now actually transmitting successfully as they are appearing in the sent items, but again, the ones that do not visually appear in the outbox.
March 27, 2014 at 10:13 pm in reply to: lines toggle between idle and establishing connections #9564ringadealMemberthank you so much for your detailed reply. I have performed all of the below steps except for the last one as I believe there might be a corrupted outbox folder which is causing the issues. The following symptoms exist:
When application is opened, the following “main application view error” opens stating “the outbox and sent items log reported 390,410 records but only 390,407 records were found”.
The actual items listed on the bottom left portion of the outbox window is “0”.
I have created a total of 8 test faxes which, when reopening the application, disappear fromt he outbox but end up nowhere and not in the sent items folder.
Is there a method for repairing the possibly corrected folder files?
ringadealMemberhow do i determine if my pc supports either pci or pcie versions?
if purchasing a brand new fax board/modem, are all required parts or cables included?
If purchasing a used one, drivers can normally be downloaded but what is with any other required items?
ringadealMembervery well explained, thanks!!
ringadealMemberI don’t seem to get it. The device I am seeking and inquiring about itself is a modem. When would another modem need to interact with it?
ringadealMemberCan you please provide an example of “another fax device”? I was under the assumption that the fax board/modem was the only hardware necessary.
ringadealMemberI do appreciate your detailed reply to my off-topic post.
Can you clarify what is meant by “super fax” – is this a new transmission speed enhancement?
What do I look for in a modem to ensure it offers the fastest available speed?
ringadealMemberRegarding the following 2 featured 8-port faxing devices, the first one is quite pricey and is listed as a modem. The second is listd as a fax board though you have indicated Comptrol to be a maker of modems:
When comparing these 2, would there be an advantage of the first versus the second?
What factor should I be considering in regard to fax transmission speed?and how does this one rank against the former 2 and is it compatible with faxtalk (this ships from canada which would be a bonus for me):
http://www.ebay.com/itm/IBM-2761-PCI-Integrated-Analog-Fax-Modem-8-Ports-/370391538077?pt=COMP_EN_Networking_Components&hash=item563d0e599dI am leaning towards evaluating the faxtalk multi line server once the hardware is in place.
Many thanks for helping sort out this information!
ringadealMembersorry, several more things regarding faxtalk.
Which multi line modems or fax boards are compatible? I couldn’t seem to find this info on your site.
Faxtalk seems to cost about 80% less than competing software. You wonder if it is missing something. Does the price fluctuate based on phone line count?
ringadealMemberAlso, would there be any benefit I should know about of a multi-modem versus a fax card or vice versa? I am prepared to work with an internal device.
