I already have Winfax Pro 10 and just upgraded my computer from Windows 2000 Pro to XP sp2 and Winfax will not work. It worked almost correctly in Windows 2000 Pro for several years. Is it not possible to make it work in XP SP2?

    Thanks

Should work properly in Windows XP SP2 what is the problem? Did you reinstall the software in Windows XP?

I uninstalled Winfax Pro 10 after upgrading to XP SP2, then re-installed. It doesn’t quit finish coming up on the screen. Most is there but all windows are empty. It also prevents Outlook 2003 fro working – stays frozen and unresponsive. <y searching the web shows many people have given up on it – even Symantec has. I really need FAX functions as they were in Winfax – or something very similar. I have to send CAD stuff and receive it for my business.

Thanks for the reply. I wonder if you can help make it all work again.

You may want to consider using our remote technical service, we can take a look at the issue and resolve it (if not, we refund your service fee)

as for Outlook 2003, there is a problem with the WinFax Logs configured in Outlook. You will need to disable the WinFax Logs.

Here is what you need to do in Outlook:

First, check to see if you have the “WinFax Logs” linked in Outlook, if you do, remove them.

    1. Start Microsoft Outlook 2003 or 2007
    2. Click on File, Data File Management.
    3. In the list, you may see “WinFax Logs”, if so, Select “WinFax Logs” from the list and click “Remove”.
    4. Verify you selected “WinFax Logs” and then click “Yes” to confirm removal of the data-file.
WARNING: DO NOT REMOVE ANY OTHER ENTRIES!

NOTE: This does not delete your logs in WinFax PRO, it only removes the link in Outlook to your WinFax logs.
You can continue using your Outlook contacts in WinFax PRO.

If you can’t perform the above steps because Outlook won’t start properly after installing WinFax PRO 10.0x, then try the following steps:

    1. Open the Control Panel.
    2. Double-click the Mail icon. (If the MAIL icon does not appear, try switching to CLASSIC VIEW)
    3. Click on the Data Files button.
    4. Select “WinFax Logs” from the list and click “Remove”.
    5. Verify you clicked and “WinFax Logs” and then click “Yes” to confirm removal of the “WinFax Log” data-file.

I will try this as soon as my next client leaves. If it does not work I will contact you about your remote technical service. It would be something I would consider because some of my clients for some reason do not do email.

    Thanks

    I just tried this –

I reinstalled Winfax Pro 10, went to mail icon in control panel, deleted the WinFax logs, and Outlook works but Winfax Pro starts to start but hangs before the windows are filled in and indicates it is not responding.

I guess there really is no hope??

    Thanks

When you un-installed WinFax, did you answer “Yes” to delete the DATA directory (warning that this willl completely delete any old logs, phonebooks etc. that you may have already stored) ?

you may want to try the Live Remote support service, for an issue like this there is no charge if it cannot be resolved.

It wouldn’t run – it wouldn’t finish loading – then I got a phone call and the FAX answered and it let me cancel – then after that it looks like it loads. I will have to try sinding a fax to someone to really see whether it is working or not.

    Thanks

Do you load the WinFax Controller first with Windows?
