There are 2 modems in the PC with Winfax 10. The modem status window shows one modem as answering with the other idle. When I call the phone number of the one that is receiving it just rings. It is like the modem is not resetting. Is this a modem problem are a software issue. Any Ideas?
WinFax did not receive the end of page or hang up code for one of the modems. Close down WinFax (if you can) or simply reboot Windows. If this is a one time occurance, there is not much you can do. If it happens everytime you receive a fax, then you either have a modem problem (configuration of two modems in one machine may be related to IRQ conflicts) or a problem with the WinFax setup.
Ok it has happend 3 time now in 10 days. I don’t think it is an IRQ conflict they are both PCI modems no jumbers both broadcom modems. We do receive about 50-100 faxes daily on these 2 modems. and we send about 30 per day. Where in the setup could there be a problem. Any help is truley appreciated.

are you cleaning out your logs and rebuilding them? With this type of traffic, I can guarantee you will continue to experience this problem. You should rebuild your logs, and or delete them (if you can) at least twice a week with this volume.
I just found this message board. I have been using Winfax Pro 10.02 for nearly two years. This problem, described, is one that I have experienced thousands of times and have not been able to find the resolution for.
It is not the fax logs and building or rebuilding them. It occurs on XP Pro, 2000 Pro, Server 2000, and my network and database manager thinks it is a TAPI interface problem. It only occurs on receive, never on send, and we have not been able to work around it with software modems, hardware modems, external modems.
If someone knows the answer, I would love to know as well. We receive a lot of faxes, but fax traffic load is not the answer either as it will happen on slow days as well.

Happens alot if you have two of the same brand of modem (e.g. use the same driver) or have both modems set on the same port (e.g. tapi). Best possible setup for this is one internal modem and one external serial port (NOT usb) modem, the brands Zoom and US Robotics ive had the most success with. Also go into tools>program setup>modems…> and make sure you dont have both modems set to TAPI, find out wich com port there on and set one to com# and other to TAPI should help out alot 😀
