In at least two documents, Symantec says WinFax sharing is not compatible with networks where one or more octets is zero or one.

We have a complex network and aren’t willing to change the IP address scheme to enable compatibility with WinFax sharing.
Has anyone discovered a workaround?
Never found this to be a problem. They say that last octet should not be a 0, 1 or 255. I think it is ridiculous that an IP address can’t have a 0 or 1 in it, I am using 192.168.0.2 as a Host and it has always worked.
