I am installing wfp10 on to a new computer, running xp. I have this loaded on another computer running xp and it runs fine. Now during install and after install I cannot enter the properties in the setup menus. area code, phone, fax. I also had a very difficult time installing this progarm this time. It took about 10 times after a restart each time and removal of old each time before getting this far. Any ideas??

for the issue entering fax numbers, etc.
    please download winfaxtools

as for the problems installing, it may be any number of issues – likely a problem with some device / program that starts with Windows

I did not completly understand what you wanted me to try by telling me that it could be a conflict wth something on my computer.
I disabled all running programs except for the OS in the msconfig. same problem.

Do you have any specific suggestions? I get to the point where I need to add data. it does not matter if I skip it on the install or whether I try to do it on install. i can skip on install and try to do it in setup properties after install and it still won’t let me enter data for profile, like phone, fax, area code

Thanks, the Winfax tool kit worked to solve the problem of not being able to enter information. Now, I set up the program to turn on when the computer starts up and it does not. I tried to start it manually and both time i get message saying something is spooling and it won;t stop. something to do with NT. Not running NT.

    Any suggestions?

try running wtnsetup from the winfax directory to perform the winfax configuration setup again.

I have run wtnsetup and everything goes good until we get to live update. At live update everything stops responding.

Do you have any suggestions on how to get past this point?

LiveUpdate isn’t really required for WinFax PRO (since there are no updates) you can cancel the liveupdate , if that fails , you might want to try downloading and installing the newest LiveUpdate from Symantec

    Download LiveUpdate from Symantec

I installed the new update. Now the program does not start when you pin it to the startup, it does not start up when you select it from the start menu. It only starts when you go into the program files and select wntsetup.

From there you can finish the setup. After that it will not auto receive, it comes up with the following messages:
Cannot open compressed file Insprint.LSZ and Error loading CopyUniDRV (Could not be found).

    Any additional suggestions?

what “new” update? The LiveUpdate? or the WinFax Update to 10.04?

If it was the later, then the only version you can update to 10.04 is version 10.03. If you are using another version, you will have to uninstall and reinstall.

the liveupdate for winfax updates. Not a new version of winfax. Do you think that buying a newer version of winfax will fix this problem?

I cannot spend much more time without my fax machine.

no ,a new version will not resolve this issue.
Do you have the WinFax PRO printer drivers installed? Those error messages indicate a problem installing the drivers. It appears the install did not successfully complete, therefore you are having these types of problems.

This is becoming very frustrating! I know that you are trying to help and I apprceiate your help. But I seem to be ansering the same questions over and over. I have installed my version 10 winfax pro. First I had a problem entering the info into the Phone, fax, location name, etc. I downloaded some fix from a link you gave me this solved the problem. Then it would finish installing we thought. Then I got a spooling error. Now the program will not auto start and it will also not go into auto receive. The only way that i can start the program is to go to the .exe file and run to start the program and it will not go into auto receive. At this point it also covers up all of my printers so that none of my other printers are showing that they are installed. The only way to get my printers back was to Un-install winfax. What do I do to install this on to the same OS that I have previously run this program on to and have it perform as it is suppose to?
