    Is there a way to check for new messages from a sharing client other than on startup?

    I have a client who wants to look periodically to see if new faxes have come in, but doesn’t want to have to go to the server to look.

    No, only can physically check the host, or startup WinFax client.

    Actually, in WinFax Pro 10.0 you can go to “Receive” and “Manual Receive Now”. This will bring up the “Receive” screen so you can view all faxes.
