MemberHi all,
Many faxes that I send end with a “corrupted acknowledgment received” message, and then the software tries the fax again.
Problem is that in all cases, the fax actually went through just fine. I can only speculate it could be the fax machine/software on the other end, or simply that Winfax does not recognize the ack. No idea.
Is it possible (I have not found an option) to force Winfax to simply ignore this error, and accept the fax as having been sent? I don’t want to ignore all errors, obviously, so I don’t think setting 0 retries is a good idea. I usually end up just seeing the thing try again and I quickly stop it. It would be quite annoying to the recipient to have my system sending the fax over and over just because of a glitch.
I’m using 10.04 on Windows XP Pro SP2 with all the latest updates, etc.
Using a US Robotics model 5686 V.92 External modem via serial port.Help greatly appreciated, thanks.

Keymasterwhat are the current WinFax fax modem settings for the US Robotics modem?
Does this modem support Class 2.0 ? If so, you can try that. Also possible to turn of ECM mode for sending.

MemberIt was, indeed set to Class 1. I’ve changed to 2 and I will see how it goes.
Thanks.
