I have just started using Winfax Pro 10.03 and I am getting a couple of different errors.

The first is Unexpected response on last attempt and the other is

No acknowledgement received on last attempt.

Sometimes it all works fine and others I get these messages.

We are using Windows XP Version 5.1 SP2

    I appreciate any advice!

    Sending and Receiving Faxes
If your message is regarding sending or receiving faxes, make sure you include your fax modem information. What is the fax modem manufacturer/and model name? What is the initialization string setup? Is it a CLASS 1 or CLASS 2.0/2 modem? Internal or External? Using COM PORT or TAPI PORT mode?

Sorry here is the requested information.

Modem type sames AOPEN FM56-PLX Controllerless PCI Modem #2

    The string is AT&F&D2&C1+IFC=2,2;S7=55

It is a Class 1 Internal

    Port TAPI

    Hope that helps.

Ensure you have the latest drivers installed for this fax modem (available from the manufacturer of the modem) and then try turning off ECM and 2d compression in the Fax Modem Setup.

Thanks for the advice. We did download the lastest driver. The ECM was already off and we clided the 2D off also and no luck. Still getting the same errors.

    Thanks,

Try the following suggestions for your modem setup:

    Uncheck “Hardware flow control”
    change the AT+IFC=2,2; to AT+IFC=1,1;

    and in Line 1:
    AT&F&D2&C1+IFC=2,2;S7=55
    change to:
    AT&F&D2&C1+IFC=1,1;S7=55

Thanks for the information. We tried this new setting and are still getting the same errors.

Seems this is happening most of the time on local calls. The long distance ones work 99% of the time while local calls work about 15% of the time.
