MemberJust to see what it would do , I tried installing the WinFax PRO 10.04 patch on an older version of WinFax (WinFax PRO 9.03). It accepted it without warning, and gave me a “Successfull install” message. 🙁
so make sure you don’t install the patch on a non-WinFax PRO 10.03 machine by mistake. It will probably cause WinFax to fail and cause you reinstall headaches.
Here are the files that it modified :
WFXCTL32.EXE
WFXRES32.DLL
WFPHOST.WPI
WFXIFWPP.DLL
UNINSTAL.DLL
ABOUT.CFGIt will rename each of these files with the .orig extension, and then when the install is completed it will delete them. Using a recovery tool (like Norton Protected Recycle Bin) you can recover the original files with the .orig extension and rename them back to their proper file names.
you might want to back up these files before you perform the patch update. This will allow you to go back easily if you need too.
