I have winfax 10.03 using a 3 year old US Robotics 56k V.90 modem. Problem is that 40% of the faxes I receive are partial – (eg cut off pages).

The incomplete faxes always come from the same people. The fax machines that they use are OLD. However, there is never an issue when they send directly to ‘fax machines’

I am starting to think that it is a modem problem.

Suggestions….

Are they Sharp , Pitney Bowes or Brother fax machines?

They both have problems specific with some U.S Robotics type fax modems.

You may want to try adding a S36=0 or S36=8 setting to your initialization string setup.

(Line 2 in the initialization string should read ATS36=0 or ATS36=8) (this is a ATS36=0 (Zero) not the letter O)

This can be done in the SETUP, MODEM, PROPERTIES, Fax Tab dialog box.
