    I uninstalled WinFax Pro 10.0 on a Windows XP machine. Everything seem to go okay, but when I tried to install WinFax Basic, I received the following error:

    “Setup has detected that a previous installation of WinFax PRO has been uninstalled, but no reboot has occurred since the uninstall. You must reboot your system before running setup.”

    I tried rebooting, but still received the error message when trying to install. I tried reinstalling WinFax Pro 10.0, but again received the error. I went through the process of uninstalling manually, but the same error.

    Please help!

    There are a few .ini files that may be left behind, off the top of my head I believe the file is called wfxboot.ini

    do a search for this file, then delete it. You should be able to reinstall.

    Let me know if that works out.
