Thanks for the reply.
Per the WinFax instructions, I ensured that the standard Windows firewall settings were in place before the patch. I even tried temporarily disabling Windows Firewall on both the host and test client to see if the problem disappeared, but no luck.
The host has no Norton IS, and the test client has it but disabled for all testing. Also, I tried a second test client that never had NIS installed without success.
When you ask about the 2 machines communicating, we have shares on both machines and I can access to/from each other.

Tried 10.04 patch, then manually verified the settings per the symantec support docs. It seems like it should work.
Are there any other things to check or to definitively troubleshoot this problem?
