You can import existing WinFax PRO fax documents into the File Cabinet in the FaxTalk software. When importing WinFax PRO faxes you can choose to import individual WinFax PRO fax documents or the entire contents of a WinFax PRO log folder. When you import individual WinFax PRO fax documents the documents will be stored in the current folder of the File Cabinet. When you import the entire contents of a WinFax PRO log folder a subfolder will be created in the File Cabinet using the same name as the WinFax PRO log folder.

IMPORTANT: Due to the way the WinFax PRO software was designed, the import capability in FaxTalk requires that the WinFax PRO software be installed on the same machine in order to perform the import operations.  If WinFax PRO is no longer installed, or you have “raw” WinFax data files you cannot directly import into FaxTalk. Importing individual WinFax PRO fax documents

1. Open the FaxTalk application.
2. Click the File Cabinet shortcut on the Shortcut Bar.
3. On the File menu, click Import. The File Import Wizard will appear.
4. Select the WinFax PRO Log Items selection from the list and click Next.
5. Select the WinFax PRO log folder that contains the desired fax document and click Next.
6. Select the desired WinFax PRO fax document from the list of fax documents found in the selected WinFax PRO log folder and click Finish.

Importing entire WinFax PRO log folders

1. Open the FaxTalk application.
2. Click the File Cabinet shortcut on the Shortcut Bar.
3. On the File menu, click Import. The File Import Wizard will appear.
4. Select the WinFax PRO Log Items selection from the list and click Next.
5. Select the WinFax PRO log folder that you wish to import.
6. Enable the Import entire contents of selected folder option. If you want to also include any subfolders found in the selected WinFax PRO log folder enable the Include subfolders in import option.
7. Click Finish.

The imported faxes will be found in the File Cabinet folder or a sub folder in the File Cabinet depending on the import selection. You can view the File Cabinet and sub folders contained in the File Cabinet using the Folder List in FaxTalk by selecting Folder List under the View menu. A folder list should appear, and if there is a plus sign to the left of the File Cabinet folder you can click the plus sign to expand the list of folders under the File Cabinet folder.

Note: Due to limitations in the way WinFax PRO creates and uses the “Quick Cover Page” coversheet these cannot be imported. Faxes that contain a “Quick Cover Page” coversheet will be imported without this page.
