some possible reasons could be specific WinFax modem settings, such as modem initialization string or modem class setting (class 1, class 2, or class 2.0).
AdministratorKeymasterNo version of WinFax is compatible with Vista
AdministratorKeymasteryes it is possible by creating a macro in VBA ( Excel) and using WinFax SDK COM object model.

I understand that this question probably gets asked a lot, but I was unable to find a way to search your forums for an answer. Is there a search feature I can’t see?
There is a search icon at the top right corner of the main Web site page, and in each Forum.
Anyway, my question is how do I get WinFax Pro to save my files in a format other than FXR? What I want to accomplish on my system is to have the faxes come in on the WinFax Pro machine and then automatically get copied to a network drive and saved in TIF or JPG or PNG format. Is this doable?
I am using Windows XP Pro SP2 and WinFax Pro 10.02 with two modems.
WinFax is designed to save all incoming faxes in FXR format, there is no option to change that. you can however manually convert FXR format to another format if you wanted to. The Fax Viewer allows you to save faxes in another format, or you can use a third party tool to convert faxes in batches to another format from the WinFax native format. see http://www.getfaxing.com/cgi-bin/ib315/ikonboard.cgi?act=ST;f=2;t=184

March 30, 2007 at 11:14 pm in reply to: Long distance Prefix 825 – I can’t dial LD if the prefix is higher #7804AdministratorKeymasterI assume by prefix, you actually are referring to an exchange, which are the 3 digits that follow the area code.
WinFax PRO has a limit of storing 64 exchanges per area code, so its possible the 825 exchange is your 64th entry and you can’t enter any more exchanges?
March 30, 2007 at 2:43 pm in reply to: Fax distribution at the fax sharing host – How do I send faxes to the right person? #6994AdministratorKeymasterthere isn’t any specific automatic forwarding of faxes based on the user, but you could manually move faxes to a new shared read only message stored specific for each user.
create the message stores on the Host machine for each user in a separate directory. The location should be somewhere the clients can access. Then on each WinFax client, create a new message store that links to this same message store created on the Host, as read only.
Someone on the host manually drags and drops the faxes from the Receive log to the proper folder and it should then appear on the client machine’s new message store.

AdministratorKeymasteri don’t think you want to change any settings in the registry, just see if there were any settings that were missing in the non-working WinFax client machine
AdministratorKeymasterthis topic may help,
http://www.getfaxing.com/cgi-bin/ib315/ikonboard.cgi?act=ST;f=18;t=71AdministratorKeymasteryes lowering the quality to standard resolution (200×100) will allow faxes to send faster.
AdministratorKeymasterwinfax can only use 2 modems on a single client or host machine. You can have >multiple< hosts, each with 2 modems. For example, 5 PC's hooked up to 2 modems each = 10 modems sending. Then you have clients that send faxes to any single host. The problem is that these "hosts' don't pool faxes, so if one host is idle, and another has 100 faxes to send, the idle PC remains idle unless you send faxes specifically to it. For the volume you are doing, I’d recommend looking at a fax server software, they can support multiple modems that can use WinFax as a client, such as http://www.faxback.com or http://www.rightfax.com
or maybe look at an internet fax service.AdministratorKeymasteryou can try installing WinFax PRO in Windows Safe mode
see http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT….ocumentalso, once you are done installing it safe mode (it may not detect your modem) you should then run “wtnsetup.exe” from the WinFax directory.
AdministratorKeymastertry running wtnsetup.exe in the WinFax directory to configure WinFax
March 13, 2007 at 1:51 am in reply to: Winfax 10.03 Upgrade – Anyone have it? – Where can get the 10.03 upgrade? #5393AdministratorKeymasterUnfortunately, Symantec never released a 10.03 update that you can freely download.
Those that requested a 10.03 upgrade prior to WinFax being discontinued were either shipped a CD-ROM, or were given a link to download a full install of 10.03 of from their server.
Since I doubt Symantec will fulfill any 10.02->10.03 upgrade requests (you can try) , one option would be to purchase the 10.03 CD-ROM from one of the vendors advertising on this site via one of the Google Ads.
AdministratorKeymasteris WinFax configured to use TAPI port , or the COM port?
